What's New in v1.2
The headline features and improvements in MCM v1.2
What's New in v1.2
MCM v1.2 connects your installation to the outside world. A customer portal handles signup, downloads and upgrades, real-time notifications keep your team informed, and you can see what infrastructure will cost before you apply it. AI now helps draft compliance policies, and you choose which LLM provider powers it.
Supported platforms
Everything you could connect in v1.1 is still supported, and v1.2 goes deeper on each one: cost estimates and topology for cloud, richer tagging, and notifications across the board.
| Provider | Category | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud | Accounts or a whole AWS Organization, with topology, tagging, cost estimates and multi-account views | |
| Cloud | Subscriptions, with topology, region-aware VM sizes and images, tagging, cost estimates and multi-account views | |
| Source control | Organizations and accounts, with more reliable discovery and code scanning | |
| Container registry | Docker Hub accounts, with image scanning | |
| Container host | Docker hosts and engines | |
| Server | Ubuntu servers over SSH, with host policies and observability |
See Supported Platforms for the full module-by-platform matrix. Additional source-control providers and Linux distributions are Coming soon.
Major features
Resource topology
Open a resource's detail page to see the resources associated with it without leaving the page. Topology is available for:
-
AWS
-
Azure
Account-level topology is still Coming soon.
AI-assisted policy creation
Describe the compliance policy you want in plain English and the AI assistant drafts it for you: Cloud Custodian policies for cloud accounts, or a compliance check script for Ubuntu hosts. Every draft is validated before you see it, and the assistant suggests a fitting framework (HIPAA, GDPR, CIS Benchmark, ISO, NIST or SOC 2) when relevant. The AI never creates or activates anything on its own: the draft opens in the Policy Wizard for you to review, edit and save.
Cost estimates before you apply
See what a Stack will cost before it reaches your cloud bill. The plan preview shows estimated monthly and hourly cost for every resource, right beside the add, change and destroy diff, and the estimate also appears on the workspace overview and run history. Estimates cover a curated list of services on:
-
AWS
-
Azure
Multi-account filtering
Analyze several accounts at once instead of one at a time. FinOps cost, forecast, budgets and recommendations, SecOps dashboards (with multiple agents too), Observability, and Orchestration nodes all accept more than one account, and Discovery lets you select several accounts in one go. This is especially useful for teams running many AWS accounts and Azure subscriptions:

Real-time notifications
Know about the events that matter as they happen, in the notification bell, by browser push or by email.
- Events include budget thresholds, new recommendations, discovery runs, policy compliance, security scan results and plan, apply and destroy outcomes.
- Add browser push for when MCM is in the background and email for a persistent record.
- Every notification is tagged Critical, High, Medium or Low, and each user turns categories on or off per channel.
- Only in-app alerts are on by default; push and email are opt-in, except user management emails.
- Email is delivered through Nexus, so your instance needs an activated Nexus connection. The notification page is on the Enterprise side.
Nexus, your customer portal
Nexus replaces the email back-and-forth with the RevDau team. Sign up with your company email, request a trial or purchase, download releases, and track your licence, all in one place. Teammates are matched by email domain, so you can ask to join an existing organization or be invited by its owner. Once a request is approved, your MCM credentials, deployment guides and support links arrive in your inbox.
MSP and self-hosted customers can upgrade an instance straight from Settings, in the MCM App tab. The instance pulls the latest release available to you, with a countdown banner and maintenance page keeping your team informed. It also checks its subscription with Nexus regularly.
Visit the Customer Portal to sign up or manage your subscription.
Stronger sign-in security
Passwords must be at least 8 characters with upper case, lower case, a number and a special character, and cannot match your username, email or last 5 passwords. Repeated failed logins trigger a temporary lockout, and Forgot password is now available. Sessions end after 4 hours, with up to 5 active sessions per user, so plan for people to sign in again after that time.
Bring your own LLM
MSP administrators choose which LLM provider powers MCM's AI features from Settings, under AI Assistant Setup. Connect Ollama (self-hosted, no API key needed), OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude) or Groq, and connect more than one: every configured provider's models appear together so your team can pick the right one for the task. The same configuration drives the chatbot and AI policy drafting, and API keys are stored encrypted.
New
Custom tag suggestions
A new Suggestions tab on each custom tag proposes values based on what a resource's related resources already carry.
Edit tags from the resource itself
Add, update or delete a resource's tags directly from its detail page.
Account status on onboarding
Set a new account to Draft, Inactive or Active when you connect it, and add custom tags at the same time. Accounts that are not Active are blocked from running in other modules. New Enterprises start with Discovery switched on.
Budget alert thresholds
Set alert thresholds on a budget and see them as a line on the budget graph. Each threshold notifies you once per budget period.
Network monitoring detections
New detection rules flag monitored DNS queries, rejected connections and repeated rejected connections that may indicate a port scan.
Region-aware Azure VM sizes and images
Azure VM sizes, VM images and SSH keys are discovered, so Orchestration pickers list real, region-aware options:
-
Azure
Domain and SSL from the UI
MSP administrators can set up a custom domain and certificate without editing config files over SSH. Upload a CA-signed certificate and key (MCM checks it matches your domain or IP), or choose Let's Encrypt and provide an email address. Changes roll out across your gateways in the background with live progress.
Orchestration counts on your dashboard
See totals for stacks and workspaces, including how many workspaces have drifted.
Improved
Easier browsing
Filter accounts, filter the cards view, select multiple accounts, and sort any table column. Azure resource IDs show only the last segment for readability.
Reliable GitHub discovery
GitHub accounts now discover consistently, and execution history is easier to follow.
-
GitHub
Cleaner onboarding for non-cloud accounts
Cost jobs no longer run for these accounts, and they are left out of the custom tag filter:
-
Docker
-
Docker Hub
-
GitHub
-
Ubuntu
Billing and settings
Multiple plan requests are supported and billing changes show in the account menu. Module Plan and Admin Details no longer appear in Enterprise Settings, and the Support link now points to Nexus.
Cost views use "Category"
Cloud cost data is grouped by Category instead of Service.
Tagging on more resource types
Tag AWS Key Pairs, Azure Subnets, Storage Blobs and Resource Groups.

Azure
Reliable policy runs and consistent scores
Policy runs have dedicated capacity and better failure handling, policy updates are validated, and Enterprise and Governance compliance scores are calculated the same way. The Policy Wizard is also streamlined for host policies.
Better Orchestration stacks
Built-in stacks are refreshed, especially the Azure VM stacks, and component options are discovered automatically. Dependencies are checked up front, AWS errors are easier to read, child-resource dropdowns are limited to the selected account, and there is a redesigned cron schedule picker.
Smoother screens
FinOps filters, the date range picker, resource and account views, and Observability tables and charts have a consistent look and a common loading experience.
A fresh look
Login, buttons, tables, drawers, toasts and the sidebar share a refreshed design, with sort indicators on table columns and an improved chatbot look and feel.
