Create dashboards with AI

Describe the dashboard you want, watch the assistant build it, and keep chatting to add, change or remove widgets.

Skip the widget builder: describe the dashboard you want and the AI assistant designs it from your data. The result is a normal custom dashboard that you own, so you can edit, rearrange, duplicate or set it as Home like any other. See Dashboards.

Build a dashboard

  1. Open Dashboards and click Create with AI. The assistant opens in a new chat with /create-dashboard already typed. You can also type /create-dashboard in any chat.
  2. After it, describe what you want in a sentence, for example /create-dashboard Monthly cloud cost by provider with the top accounts, and send it.
  3. The assistant designs the dashboard and creates it straight away. It opens beside the chat and its widgets appear one by one.

Be specific about what you want to see: the data (cost, resources, compliance), how to group it (by provider, account, month) and the time range.

What you get

  • Up to four tabs, each with up to eight widgets. The assistant usually aims for a focused four to eight widgets in total, with clear titles.
  • Widgets as tables, line, area and column charts, pie charts and stat tiles (one headline figure per value).
  • Data from FinOps, Discovery, Governance and platform records such as enterprises, accounts, subscriptions and billing plans.

Only widgets that can really run on your data are created. Anything the assistant proposes that does not match the data available is dropped, and a tab with no usable widgets is left out. If the assistant cannot produce a usable dashboard it says so and you can rephrase the request. The numbers on the dashboard follow your own access: you only see data for the enterprises and accounts your role reaches.

Keep refining it live

While a dashboard that you can edit is open next to the chat, the chat shows Editing live with its name. Keep chatting to change it and watch it update:

  • Add a widget, for example "add a pie chart of resources by region".
  • Change a widget, for example "make the cost chart weekly instead of monthly".
  • Remove a widget.
  • Add a tab, or rename the dashboard.

Each request makes the smallest change that does what you asked and leaves the rest alone. If your message is not about changing the dashboard, the assistant simply answers it. The ready-made dashboards are read-only, so the assistant does not edit them. To base a dashboard on one of them, ask for a similar dashboard to be built.

Come back to it later

A dashboard the assistant built is saved like any other. Find it in Dashboards; the Created By column shows who made it. If you open an earlier conversation, the dashboard card in the chat offers Create dashboard rather than creating another copy on its own.

You need write access to dashboards to create one. See Roles and access. An AI provider must be connected first. See AI provider setup.
